SONA 2011 Fashion

A lot of hit and miss was seen on the red carpet of Pnoy’s 2nd State of the Nation Address but Rep. Lucy Torres-Gomez stood out once again. I was wowed by the modelesque figure of Lucy Torres in a lovely pale pink terno by Randy Ortiz. Elegance at its best. (Click here to for her gown in 2010 SONA)

Next in my list is Manny Pacquiao’s wife, Jinkee who wore a show stopper salmon colored terno by Paul Cabral.

Kris Aquino was seen in a blush Cary Santiago terno, but I can’t find a clear photo. Seems like Cary Santiago is Kris’ fave designer of the moment. I love the blush pink gown she wore in PGT 2 grand finals.

Lani Mercado in an off white terno, safe but not figure flattering. Though that metallic channel bag is a must have in every girl’s closet.

I wanted to take a better look at Assunta De Rossi’s blue terno and Imelda Marcos’ pink terno, but I couldn’t find any photo yet. Send me if you have a copy, please!

Shop Crazy at Tyler

I went crazy buying dresses today, I liked 3 dresses from Tyler (Rockwell branch) but ended up buying 2, the other one was purchased at Tyler Shangri-la. Two weddings to attend in the next 3 weeks gave me that simple excuse to splurge on dresses.

My first encounter with this store was way back 2001, since then I kept coming back for those “special occasion clothing needs”. They have skilled sales assistants that will dress you up after answering 2 questions: For what occasion and do you have any color preference? Then they’ll bring out the items that will suit your needs.

Don’t be deceived by their windows and racks, as they normally display their safest items (everyday wear). Lovely dresses come out of the stock room when you ask for it.

Here is my most “sulit” purchase from Tyler:

So next on the list, gift items. As mentioned on my tweet last monday “this week is going to be a shopping week” .

Charice on the Red Carpet

Charice was looking young and fresh at the premier party of Glee Season 2. The international singing sensation opted to wear an LBD and peep-toe booties with light make up and big locks.

Miss Universe 2010

My take on the Ms. Universe Pageant 2010 – Ms. Mexico, Jimena Navarette Rosete is so pretty, hands down and I love her ruby-red gown in a major major way! She deserves the Miss Universe title.

Of course, congratulations also to Ms.Philippines, Venus Raj for making it to top 5 and bringing home the 4th runner-up title.

State of the GLAM

SONA had never been this glamorous. President Noy Noy Aquino’s 1st State of the nation address turned out to be like a FAMAS awards night (Film Academy of the Philippines). Ladies came in scene stealing gowns, nice clutches and fabulous make up and hair do.

 

Clap, Clap for Rep. Lucy Torres-Gomez in powder blue Randy Ortiz terno, just so pretty. By the way, as for the president, he sported a new haircut and wore a JC Buendia signature barong. Now, time to watch speech

Celestina = Chic

My usual internet surfing landed me to Barneys NY site. I felt nothing but pride seeing this chic Katipunan table top from Celestina starred their homepage.

Celestina was launched in 2006 by the Filipina model turned retailer/designer Tina Maristela-Ocampo, which initially started with an exquisite line of handbags (minaudiere)  and fine jewelry  using indigenous materials like shells and shagreen now they have other home accessories such as trays, frames and table tops.
