“I want to thank Aby and her team for my hair and makeup during my wedding.
I chose the airbrush and it looked so natural and it really enhanced my features. It’s the perfect wedding look. The makeup she used was comfortable on the skin and it lasted for the whole night. I have oily skin so I was worried because I always have problems with makeup smearing or melting, but I didn’t have a problem at all.
Aby retouched it and made my eyes smokier for the evening reception. Her style is subtle and quite classy. A lot of my friends complimented my makeup.
Her team also changed my hair for the reception, which I loved. The hairstyle they did was perfect for my long hair and my fascinator.
The curls were cool because they looked hip but at the same time, it still looked done up.
I’m really extremely pleased with everything and would recommend Aby to all my friends”.
Tagaytay. That’s where my first wedding for 2011 was held. London-based bride Nanette and US-based groom Oliver tied the knot last January 9, 2011 and I am more than grateful to work with such awesome people.
It was cloudy that day. While we are at Joaquin’s Bed and Breakfast to do the make up and other wedding preparations, the rain poured but the weather did not dampen anybody’s spirit or even put the bride to worries. Nanette just enjoyed every moment of her big day. Here are some of my snapshots of the bride.
Package: Airbrush Make Up for the bride and MOH, Traditional Make Up for 5 pax | Hats and Fascinators were bought by the bride in London | Ceremony and Reception: Antonio’s Tagaytay
I will definitely post more photos when the most sought after destination wedding photographer Oly Ruiz of Metrophoto released the official wedding pictures. :) Oops… and special thanks to Abby Pague of Wedding Conzepts.
London-based, bride-to-be Nanette Santos will have a mad hatter’s themed wedding come January. Here are some shots from her trial make up with her fascinator hat to be used as a veil on her wedding day.
Hair and Make up: Aby Valentos
Had a lot of fun during this trial make-up, heard stories from around the globe (Nanette from London, her sister Renee is based in Georgia and their other sister is based in Uruguay). To top it all, they served us the heavenly, super moist chocolate cake from Chocolat… Check out this review from Lori Baltazar.
Now, time to search Joaquin’s bed and breakfast in Tagaytay coz that’s our prep venue on January 9.
Here are my two new discoveries on my culinary exploration this week
Buon Giorno – Yes, it’s now in Manila, the famous Italian bistro in Tagaytay is now in the city and it’s just stone throw away from our house. Had a taste of my favorite Foie Gras Salad and it was wonderful! Buon Giorno is located at The Park right beside Puregold on Shaw Blvd. By the way, the iconic day bed with white curtains is also available for seating.
Rustan’s Gourmet to go- My grocery errands introduced me to this new concept of Rustan’s supermarket, Makati. Your eyes won’t miss the variety of sandwich, salad and pastas that looked so healthy and fresh, you can’t help but to try. I ordered Chicken Sandwich with Cranberry and it’s so yummy, plus I could carry it around while rushing to my next destination. Instantly, I wished I’m staying in a condo in Makati so I could get this fresh, healthy and convenient meals (see below photo).
It was an early call time last Feb 27- 4am. Set up at Hotel Dominique, Tagaytay. We got there on time… even if it was hard to get up on 10 degrees environment
Anyway, here’s the summary of Joey’s look
Make Up- Light bridal day make up. This was the way the bride and groom like it, since too much make up makes her look mataray or snobbish. I softened her eye brows by using a brown eye brow corrector.
Hair- Joey changed her mind 1 week before the wedding. She opted for a loose bun which complimented her gown.
By the way,
No make up retouching was done for the whole event. Make up did last even after the reception
