Tresses Time

A few months ago, I blogged about some things I wanted to do after giving birth, and yesterday I accomplished another one. I had my hair updated…finally

On a drizzling sunday afternoon, I decide to go to Tony and Jackey, Magallanes, the best korean salon as they claim. I got a package that includes Loreal Digital Perm, Aqua Herba Manicure, Keratin Treatment and a Haircut.

My first time in a korean/ non-tagalog speaking salon, the receptionist recommended Eddie as my hairstylist. I was surprised, he communicates fairly well in english. So when he was trying to analyze my hair, his first words were… your hair is “super dry”. I couldn’t agree more, post partum hormones caused this. My hair badly needs Keratin treatment and as an extra treat the T and J signature hair massage.

Here I am being prepped in front of a smart mirror-computer monitor/mirror

Having Keratin Treatment

Preparing for Haircut

They recommend to get a haircut to enhance the curls. It was done before my hair went to this scary machine. After digiperm, my locks went through what they call Aqua Herba Manicure also known as  Hair Cellophane, additional shine needed to make those locks even more luscious.

After 4 hours, 4 hair washing, 5 magazines and a whole lot of picture-taking, here’s the result…. click, click!!!

Digital Perm…scary machine noh?

Kate Middleton’s Wedding Hair and Make Up Details

We reported last week that Kate Middleton would be doing her own makeup after taking lessons with expert Arabella Preston—and the results were absolutely stunning. Middleton went for a softly smoky eye, rimming her eyes in black liner and brushing her lids with a dove gray shadow. A rosy cheek and nude pink gloss finished the look. (Word has it the makeup may have been Bobbi Brown.) As expected, she also wore her hair down in long, tumbling waves, a style that was courtesy of her longtime stylist James Pryce of the Richard Ward salon in London, while associates from the salon styled the bridal party. “Catherine’s bridal look is called the ‘Demi Chignon’—an updo style which combines a classic bridal look with a regal, couture finish,” the salon said in a statement. “The focus of the style was Catherine’s unique and individual halo style tiara, set just back from the hairline, which determined the finished look.” According to Elle UK, Pryce and Middleton spent four months and created multiple mood boards to perfect the Demi Chignon. We’re absolutely delighted with the final result—but what do you think of Kate’s hair and makeup?

Nanette’s Trial Make Up

London-based, bride-to-be Nanette Santos will have a mad hatter’s themed wedding come January. Here are some shots from her trial make up with her fascinator hat to be used as a veil on her wedding day.

Hair and Make up: Aby Valentos

Had a lot of fun during this trial make-up, heard stories from around the globe (Nanette from London, her sister Renee is based in Georgia and their other sister is based in Uruguay). To top it all, they served us the heavenly, super moist chocolate cake from Chocolat… Check out this review from Lori Baltazar.

Now, time to search Joaquin’s bed and breakfast in Tagaytay coz that’s our prep venue on January 9.

My instant hairstyle

For my friend’s wedding yesterday, I wanted big locks for my hair but I didn’t have enough time to curl my hair properly. So it looked more like I just came out of bed. Before the reception started, I twist and turn my hair into a simple bun and here’s the result.

The brooch I bought from Landmark came handy, instant hairpiece.

I also did the bride and some of the entourage member’s hair and makeup, will post outputs soon! 🙂

Victorian Style E-Session

A very busy week was capped off with a pre-nup shoot last saturday of my friend Ruth and her fiance Lito. Venues were Fernbrook Gardens, Alabang and Fantasy World in Tagaytay.

Ruth has 3 layouts in mind, one of which is Victorian/Royalty theme and the Fernbrook provided the perfect backdrop and gave that “Romeo and Juliet” feel. Here are some of my snapshots.

I wasn’t able to get shots from the 2 other layouts, I’ll just wait for Smartshots’ outputs.  Anyway, I did two looks on Ruth, a bridal day and glam/regal look. I airbrushed her face and cheeks (foundation and blush) and the rest of the make up was done by hand.

Take me to the Edge

First I want change my hair color to blonde, now I want it bob and blonde. All because of her… the Estonian beauty, brand endorser, Victoria Secret angel  etc, etc… Carmen Kass!  Her new do at the Balmain Show in Paris Fashion week (S/S 2011) surprised and made us all ogle. The long haired blonde lass transformed from pretty to edgy.

Here are some personalities who rocked this short hair do :

Agyness Deyn

Emma Watson

Carey Mulligan

This “Take me to the edge look” all started with Twiggy and  Mia Farrow around 1960’s, their chopped hair paved the way to stardom and later become style icons.

Mia Farrow

But, I don’t want just a crop, I want “The Carmen” choppy crop. arghhh!

Backstage of La Vanita

Here are some backstage photos from the fashion show last saturday for the House of Vanita. Theme was “Italian Cinema”, 7 bloggers strut on the runway wearing Vanita’s latest lingerie and swimsuit collection. Don’t ask me why I was chosen for this, because I also don’t know. 🙂

with my sissy Isabelle and Lesley

Make up was done by Anna Isip, she barely has a month to go before giving birth but she still manages to do make up for all 7 bloggers.  My 1940’s inspired hairstyle was done by Jules. I still have LSS from the Italian songs they played during the show.
