First I want change my hair color to blonde, now I want it bob and blonde. All because of her… the Estonian beauty, brand endorser, Victoria Secret angel etc, etc… Carmen Kass! Her new do at the Balmain Show in Paris Fashion week (S/S 2011) surprised and made us all ogle. The long haired blonde lass transformed from pretty to edgy.
Here are some personalities who rocked this short hair do :
This “Take me to the edge look” all started with Twiggy and Mia Farrow around 1960’s, their chopped hair paved the way to stardom and later become style icons.
But, I don’t want just a crop, I want “The Carmen” choppy crop. arghhh!
For the Milan Fashion week spring summer 2010 RTW, 4 brands caught my attention and exceeded my expectations: Armani, Fendi, Etro and Cavalli.
Emporio Armani and Fendi opted mostly for neutral tones and minimalist silhouettes synonymous to elegance. Etro and Just Cavalli’s collection is more free-spirited with an unusual mix of texture, patterns and colors.
2 looks that I really love but far so different from each other: Understated Elegance and Boho Chic. So, let’s start the show.
Dominico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana’s Spring/Summer 2011 collection is relaxed, fresh, young and pretty. Bubble shorts, floral tops, gingham head scraves paired with sky-high wedge espadrilles and over-sized canvas bag.
The collection reminded me of my house dresses and cabbage patch kid dolls more than Snow white and the seven dwarfs. The runway filled with fresh blossoms, ferns and ivy reminded me of mom’s pocket garden in the province, (the side of our house, passage from our lawn to the backyard) filled with roses, daisies and bougainvilleas.
I’m loving the nude make up and blonde tousled hair look seen at the NY fashion week a few days ago.
Philip Lim models (1st photo) had a “sculpted, clean” makeup with an effortless chignon, which will make you think that the models just did on themselves while for Michael Kors’ show (2nd photo), Shiseido Make Up Director Dick Page did a bronzed out look for the models, Tresses in double knots.
Tough edge look for Proenza Schouler models, Thick and dark brows in pale skin combined with fallen out french twists, sexy eh?
